As the late 2023 summer wildfire smoke rolled in from Oregon all across California, ABC News covered Brightline’s air quality monitoring work for low-income and underserved communities in San Francisco.

Everyone has the right to clean air — not just those who have the resources to avoid the effects of climate change.

Brightline developed a community-driven Air Quality Monitoring Program that captures the local air quality data in Eastern San Francisco, where BIPOC and low-income communities are disproportionately affected by poor air quality-related health issues.
